I had my first wedding planning dream. Margaret and I were talking to a caterer who got very pushy and started setting tables. I just wanted to talk with him and didn't want him moving all his stuff into our wedding. I was serious and started smashing all the plates he had set up!

The Date and The Engagement
"I want you to be my wife. Will you marry me?"
"Why, yes. How does June 9th sound?"
No, that's not really how it went. But based on the response of family and friends, you would think that was the norm. Being engaged, particularly to DRS1, is really amazing and a true blessing. I could not be happier--I have found an amazing man to spend the rest of my life with. And I'm hoping to take a few more weeks to enjoy basking in the glow of knowing that he loves me as much as I love him. Yet every conversation I've had so far about The Engagement, with family, friends, co-workers, former classmates, etc, has inevitably gotten around to The Date. The truth is, we don't know! There are many factors to consider, most of which revolve around coordinating lots of moving parts--not something that can be taken care of in 90 seconds of discussion.
So stay posted (is that blog humor? This is new to me.) We promise that details will be forthcoming when we have them.
Margaret in my Life and Times
The Life and Times of DRS1 has never actually been very much about my Life and Times. I've steered away from most personal stories and favored the random musing style of posting. For quite some time i've also favored the SPARSE style of posting.
On the old "Life and Times" I would never have said something like "I'm so in love with Margaret. She is my best friend and most treasured companion.". It's true though, and is now very relevant to this blog, since i have asked Margaret to be a part of my Life and Times forever!
I proposed to Margaret on September 14, 2006, and she said YES! We're both very excited to be sharing our Times together. In addition to sharing our lives, we're also going to try sharing this blog! I don't know what it will look like, or if we'll change to a new blog location, but you can expect some posts from Margaret in the future. Margaret has been the best thing in my life for quite some time and i'm sure she will be very good for the blog as well!
