I stopped in at the CVS at the top of Charles St. (right across from MGH T stop) on the way to work this morning. As I stepped up to the counter, a nice older looking woman started ringing up my purchase and then realized the previous customer had left a pack of gum on the counter! She grabbed the gum, ran outside and chased after the cab the customer had gotten into. Just before the cab pulled out of reach, the CVS employee made contact and the absent minded consumer was reunited with her recently purchased gum! I applaud this act of customer service, which will probably slip by unnoticed and unrewarded, like so many other good deeds that make the world a better place.
