Margaret and I drove up to Lincoln NH, this Saturday to hear a time share presentation from InnSeason Resorts. They promised us $50 towards gas and 4 free airline tickets, but I was really more interested in gettin out of town for a little road trip.
I sometimes have a tendancy to be a tad impulsive about purchases, so i was a little nervous that i might actually come home the proud owner of a new time share. I tried to practice saying no as much as possible, but it turns out that it was very easy. They were true to their word and didn't pressure us at all, and it never seemed like that great of a deal to me.
I thought the actual presentation was pretty funny. They put us in a room of about 30 other people with a large man who had been a Rodney Dangerfield impersonator in Vegas. He proceeded to chat up the room for 90 minutes telling us how great this particular property was. He tried his best, and was probably pretty successful at trying to buddy up to everyone there. Luckily, I could see right through his silly tricks (well.. at least margaret could). After the presentation we got our own sales rep who tried to get us to pay $15,000, plus $500 a year for a weekly vacation.
We did get the $50 for gas, but it turns out the free airline tickets aren't really that great of a deal. NH was beautiful and in about 2 weeks it'll be even better. I had a great time with Margaret and have no regrets about the trip. If you are one of my friends that I sold out by giving your contact info to InnSeason.... sorry about that. You might just want to say no when they give you a call.
