Crossing the Charles

This morning on the way to work, I saw a cool bird sitting on the Longfellow bridge. The bird had a purple head; it's body looked black at first, but as I got closer I could see that it's body had a green shine in the sunlight. I thought the bird would fly away as I walked past, but instead it just sat there and let out a loud call.. CLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK.

I saw a guy rowing under the bridge in a one man scull (Is that what you call those boats?). You face backwards in that kind of boat. I thought it must be a real pain when you are first learning how to row, because I bet it's hard to go in a straight line.

At the end of the bridge I heard another.. CLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK. I could see the bird that made this call, sitting on a street sign. I'm pretty sure it was a different bird, but I was too far away to still see the first one.
