The second movie I saw this weekend was Spiderman 2. Ho Hum. I have to give it props for being exactly what it was supposed to be. I don't want to give everything away, but it was basically Super Man II. Super hero struggles with resposibility of being a super hero, gives up super powers in order to lead normal life/pursue girl, reclaims super powers to save world/girl. I guess the major difference is that Super Man gives up the girl (right?) and Spidey gets to keep her. That's interesting.
The first movie I saw this weekend was Spring, Sumer, Fall, Winter...and Spring. This is a Korean(?) movie about the life of a Budhist monk. There is almost no dialogue in the entire movie and yet it conveys a very deep spiritual story. If you like this kind of thing go see it soon at the Capitol Theater in Arlington, or wait till it comes out on DVD.
