I've been reading Purpose Driven Life for my Tues night bible study. In one chapter it was saying something about how Noah was such a faithful man to follow God's command to build an Ark...because he had never seen rain! When I read that I thought, huh??? Noah has never seen rain? How in the heck did they come up with that idea?
I have never heard anything like that before, but when I looked it up on the internet I found the answer. It's part of the explanation that the "young earth" camp puts together to explain things that don't fit in with more mainstream science. They take an absolutely literal interpretation to creation and everything else in Genesis. It basically sounds pretty ridiculous when you read it, and I think it's an entirely unnecessary way of interpreting Genesis. I wonder how many of the millions of people that have read this book wondered why Noah had never seen rain?
