We had our company Christmas party last night and I must say they did a good job with the event. Good food, drinks, and the usual party stuff, but what I found really cool was this David Blain type illusionist. He did all these sweet slight of hand tricks right in front of your face and they came off super smooth. I saw him do the old trick where he has someone sign a card and stick it back in the deck. He then does 4 or 5 tricks with the deck and at the end pulls this wallet out of his coat which contains a sealed envelope holding the signed card! Now I saw him go into his jacket to put back the pen, but it was soo fast. If that's when he somehow setup the whole envelope thing it was amazingly quick! We asked him how one learns to do this kind of stuff. He said you can really learn it all from books; it just takes LOTS of practice.
No one gets smashed and does embarrasing things at our parties, so it's a good thing they got some entertainment. Otherwise it woulda been real boring.

Crispy Hexagons
Hexagon was the undisputed winner of the favorite polygon poll, claiming 8 out of 13 votes! Honorable mention goes to triangle and heptagon with two votes each. The final vote was cast for our friend pentagon.
I'm not sure why everyone else voted for hexagon, but for me it was because they remind me of my favorite breakfast cereal, Crispy Hexagons. I used to get this generic Crispix ripoff all the time when I lived in Keene, NH. The cereal wasn't bad, but I really loved it for it's name. I'll have to see if I can find some Crispy Hexagons in Boston.
