Somebody has to

It's been pretty slow for me at work recently. I've been stretching a task out that is not particularly hard for a couple weeks, caus if I finish I won't have anything to pretend to be doing. Well.. that and I don't particularly want to do it anyway, but enough about my work. The important thing is that I was playing this helicopter rescue game. It's not a very easy game and is also tedious because you have to replay the early levels everytime you lose. Well as I was playing my boss stepped into my cube to ask me a question. You know you've all been there before. Clumsily stumbling for Alt-Tab I bemoaned the fact that the stupid rescue game has no pause, meaning my helicopters would be crashing while I talked to my boss. It's not like I was in trouble caus my boss knows I don't have that much going on, but I musta looked funny in my startled state, caus she did let out a little chuckle. In my head I was like, "What's so funny? These people are in trouble...and they're not going to rescue themselves!". In real life I just answered her question and started over back at Mission 1. Which reminds me, there are still some people waiting to be rescued on Mission 4 and somebody has to save them. It might as well be me.

Softball is Easy

I went to the batting cages at Good Times last Thurs, to get in a few swings before my game Friday. Hit a home run on Fri, that cruised over the center fielder's head and kept rolling a looong way. This just serves to further my theory that softball is easy, because I'm surely not that great. We'll see if the theory holds tonight.

Had a soccer game at Bunker Hill this Sunday and there was an unfortunate gruesome injury to a player on the other team. This guy fell down in a very normal looking way but the players around him immediately called to the sidelines for someone to dial 911. The injuried player's arm was broken somewhere near the wrist and although I didn't see it, I hear his hand was dangling pretty freely.

Saw the surfing documentary Step Into Liquid this weekend. I really really liked this movie but then again I am a big fan of surfing. The footage of the Maverick's crew surfing that huge offshore break was unbelievable! There is some beer commercial going around right now that states random trivia. One of the facts they state is that the largest wave ever surfed was 66 ft high. This movie has footage of that incredible ride.

Hail to the Redskins!! I do like the Patriots, but when it comes to football there is no question as to where my loyalties lie. This weekend I was proud to watch the Redskins hold on to claim a slim victory over New England. Today I enjoyed the sweet rewards of my confidence as my coworker paid off our bet by buying my lunch.
