Hurricane Isabel stirred up a lot of trouble in NOVA last week, including this 5 foot snake! My Dad found this reptile seeking higher ground in our backyard on Thursday as Isabel rolled on through. Despiter her natural fear of snakes, my mom came to my father's aid, as the two of them battled to catch the snake. With the protection of garden gloves and the aid of paint rollers and broom sticks, they managed to catch the snake in our kitchen trash can. They managed to catch it again when it escaped; and again when it escaped a bigger trash can; and again when it escaped a pillow case; but that was to be the final escape for this snake! My parents took the snake a comfortable distance from the house and released it into the woods of Hidden Pond.

Without the stress of hurricanes and snakes I played the best nine hole of golf I've ever had this weekend. I scored a 45 (par 36) which will not get me on the PGA, but is not a bad score. The last two holes were particularly good as I finished w/ a par/birdie. The final hole was a par 5 and I started out with a monster drive right down the center of the fairway. My third shot found it's way to the green, and then on my fourth shot I rolled a 25 foot putt straight into the center of the cup! It was the longest putt I've ever made on the final shot of my best nine holes!

There are certain moments in my life that I wish I could rewind and watch on video tape. That final hole of golf would be one of them. There would be so many moments that would fall into that category though. If I could watch a video tape of my parents lives, one part I'd really want to see would be when they caught that snake! I bet it would be pretty funny watching them keep scoopin' it up after it escapes time and time again! I bet my mom let out some really good screams!
