All Star Games

Sports that let the fans vote for who will be in their All Star Game don't make complete sense to me. I can see how as a fan this power to vote is kind of nice, but it obviously doesn't necesarily recognize the best players. I think it usually does work out pretty well and the players that make the All Star team are usually deserving, but there are definately times when an obscure player will be slighted or a star gets in on name recognition alone. This maybe begs a larger question...Why do people want to vote on every little thing? American Idol, All Star games, every stupid poll on the internet, the tv screen in my elevator at work, and on and on. Can't somebody just decide for me?

Sun on the Weekend?

Sun on the weekend? That was weird, but I liked it! Three soccer games (1-1-1) in two days to take advantage of the first nice weekend in a month.

I was doing a little reading on the couch this weekend after one of my soccer games, and started drifting off into a nap. I realized I had no idea what I had just read in the last couple paragraphs, so I thought "I gotta focus on this book". Then as I tried to focus on the page I realized, "Hmm... no wonder that didn't make any sense; my eyes are closed!" I think that happens to everyone, but it's still kind of funny.
