Avoid Carpal Tunnel
My geekiness may show through a little in this post, but last night I got excited when I learned some new windows short cuts from
this article. Using the keyboard more and the mouse less not only makes you faster and saves you from carpal tunnel syndrome; it will also make other computer nerds jealous of your lightning fast chops!
I was looking for the shortcut to rename a file so I wouldn't have to right click (that's F2), but I found a lot more.
Windows Button + E - Opens Explorer
Windows Button + F - Opens Find File
Windows Button + R - Opens Run
Windows Button + M - Minimizes all open windows
Ctrl + Shift + Esc - Opens task manager
I thought I was pretty good w/ shortcuts already. There's the obvious Alt-Tab, Ctrl-Tab, Ctrl-X, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V. I can cut and paste with the best of them, w/ the Shift-End, Ctrl-Shift-End, and Ctrl-Shift-Right. My previous best trick was creating hot keys for frequently used apps (that's in the article), but these new tricks should help take me to a whole new level of keyboard geekiness!
Everyone in New England should be glad to hear that Krispy Kreme just opened it's first NE store. Sweet Krispy Kreme goodness should soon be a realistic option to the Dunkin monopoly. I remeber in high school when the track team would sell Krispy Kremes as a fund raiser (kind of ironic really). We would all buy a dozen and get through most of the box before being immobilized by the beautiful fried dough and heavenly sugar glaze! Check out
this article about the Krispy Kreme production process. The sugar glaze waterfall is like something out of Willy Wonka!!
