Earth Day

The Red Sox won their game today
No hitter against Tampa Bay
D. Lowe did throw, and I would say
A perfect way to spend Earth Day

Ugh

The Red Team had an 11:00 soccer game last night. That's a late game! Turned out to be an impressive victory for the Red Team and I finally got another goal after not scoring for a couple weeks. The night was not over, however, when I headed home at about 12:15. It had been raining like crazy all night and it was cold. The rain had even turned to wet fluffy snow flakes earlier in the night. As I was pulling out of the parking lot I drove through an innocent looking puddle that was hiding a very mean, deep pot hole. The car crashed down, the CD player skipped for about 10 seconds, and my tire blew up! The rain had not stopped, so I had to get out and change my tire in the cold pouring rain. I was a little worried after I had jacked my car up and taken off the bolts, but could still not get the tire off. Luckily when I pulled and pulled with all my might, kicked the tire a few times, and muttered some bad words, it finally decided to pop off. I was driving Brenden home, so at least I had some company during the whole ordeal, but I did not get home until about 1:30. And so I am tired today, but at least I have a Red Sox game to look forward to tonight!

Old School Rolling Valley

My elementary school had this thing!!

Holy Moses

This ESP trick is killer sweet. It has correctly guessed my card twice and I am scared to try again. Seriously.. with me and my cube mates it is 10 for 10.

Dunkin Donuts

I tried to go to Alinda's for lunch today, which is a nice little place next to my office, but when I got there it was strangely empty. We peeked in and found out that the place has closed down and is becoming... a Dunkin Donuts. This is sad because there aren't that many close places for lunch and, did it have to be a Dunkin Donuts?

I can not believe how many Dunkin Donuts the Boston area supports. They're everywhere! For my friends in Northern Va, imagine every single 7-11 and McDonalds was turned into a Dunkin Donuts. That's what's it like up here! Don't get me wrong, I like the place. I like their coffee, donuts, and bagels, but it's like the mini spy cam add on the internet. No matter how cool something is, when you see it around that much it starts to drag you down!

The Elegant Universe

I was reading my new book, The Elegant Universe, last night before I went to bed. I was probably only reading for about 15 minutes, but all night long my brain was running around in circles trying to solve equations and figure out quantum mechanics. I woke up during the night and tried to consciously tell my brain to "STOP IT", but that only seemed to make my dreams more furious! I like the book, but I'm going to make a new rule... No Elegant Universe before bed!

The Elegant Universe is ultimately about String theory which is a theory that hopes to resolve the conflicts between general relativity and quantum mechanics. In my reading so far the book has been explaining special/general relativity and quantum mechanics to set the stage for string theory. One thing that has struck me thus far is that Einstein was a genius! I know that's not a big secret, but with all the stupid posters and little quotes I think its easy to not realize how awesome his work was. Einstein is not at all overrated as a genius!!

Hooked on a Feelin'

This one is dedicated to my old college roomated John Knauss. He had a David Hasselhauf album that he would play from time to time. It was pretty funny and he could sing along to some of the songs which was even funnier.

David Hasselhauf sings Hooked on a Feeling. The video is gold. I'd love to see the making of this video on MTV!
