I learned some new rules for Rochambeau ( Rock Paper Scissors) last night. There are two other elements involved in this classic game that most players do not know about. These two elements are fire and water. Fire is a nearly unstoppable force that can beat rock, paper and scissors, but can only be thrown ONCE in your life. Water will beat fire making it the only real defense against fire (unless you want to waste your fire on a tie). Water, however, loses to every other element rendering it a fairly weak play in most circumstances.
The World RPS Society does not acknowledge "fire" and "water" but if you look on the message boards you will see evidence of there existence! What does RPS know anyway? Scroll down this page and check out "How to Meet Girls with RPS". That would never work!
I've been thinking about when I would possibly use my "fire" all day. If anyone has ever used their fire I'd be interested to know what the circumstances were.

Internet Polls
I think polls are the dumbest thing on the internet. I'm not asking if you agree or not, caus that would kind of be a poll. I'm just saying I think they're the dumbest thing. Not only are polls the dumbest thing on the internet, but tons of TV shows have websites with polls and insist on broadcasting the internet poll results. In general I try very hard not to click on any poll and encourage the stupid things, but sometimes I have to admit I get suckered. How can something so stupid be so hard to avoid?

DCSHOECOEUSA
I saw an ad for DC shoes during the Osbournes on MTV tonight. That probably doesn't mean anything to most people, but I find it kind of significant. It's the first time I think I've ever seen an ad for a pure skateboarding company on TV. I'm definately no expert, but I have at least had an eye on the skateboarding industry for the past 15 years. The Tony Hawk video games, X-Games, and even MTV JackAss series have made skateboarding mainstream enough that they can put commercials on a successful show like the Osbournes. Cool!
And while I'm on commercials, there were a couple new Snapple commercials that were pretty dang funny. Snapple. Those guys make good commercials.
Chess Babe
There's a female chess player who's attracting a lot of attention with her good looks and excellent chess play. You can read about her in
this article on Fox Life, but I also suggest checking out her website:
http://www.kosteniuk.com/ (Don't skip the Flash intro boys!). They're calling her the Anna Kournikova of chess, and I don't know about all that, but still... I'm in love. I wonder if she likes math too. That would be perfect.

Masters
Tiger Woods is unbelievable! If you don't watch golf and wonder if Tiger is as good as everyone says....He's better. Tiger won his third Masters today, only two others have won more. It was his seventh major title, including 6 of the last 10 he's played. I'm not gonna go on and on about golf, but it was awesome. After watching a lot of the Masters the past four days I'm pumped to play some golf. I think I'll try and get out to the range next week.
Geocache!
I found me first geocache today! It was an absolutely beautiful spring day so I put on a pair of shorts and geared up for my trip. As I prepared to leave I did find it kind of funny that for my little trip to Ward Reservation I was bringing a GPS, cell phone, and digital camera. That's a lot of high tech gear for a little walk in the woods!
I got to the reservation marked the spot of my car and the position of the cache on the GPS then headed off for the trail. I decided to hike around a little before I really went after the cache, which was probably not the best idea, but worked out ok. After picking a random trail and hiking for about 15 minutes I checked the GPS. Only 300 feet from the cache! The GPS was pointing me off the trail so I hopped through some brush and started poking around. There were fallen trees everywhere creating many potential hiding spots for the cache. After looking around for about 5 minutes I decided to go back to the trail to get a better reading from the GPS. On the trail the GPS told me I was 120 feet from the cache and pointed me in the right direction. This time I counted my steps as I left the trail.. 30 feet.. .60...90...100...Wham.. I walk straight into the cache! It was a small tupper ware container hidden under a fallen tree, camoflaged with sticks and leaves, but still visible from 20 feet away. It was honestly pretty exciting to find that little tuper ware container. I took my picture and signed a log book from the cache then took a small plastic dinosaur and left an old hacky sack.
I kept hiking around Ward Reservation for the rest of the afternoon. It had some very nice wooded trails that were good for hiking and would also make a good spot for mountain biking. There's a nice big field near the parking lot and farther up at Boston Hill that would make great spots for a picnic. I took a few pictures with the camera, so if I put them on the web I'll leave a comment pointing to them
