Three day weekend thanks to Patriots Day on Monday. It is 5:23 on Friday and it is quiet as can be here at work!
Blindness
I watched Dancer in the Dark, starring Bjork the other night. It was a musical, but with a dark "non-musical" kind of plot. I like Bjork's music and enjoyed the movie.
In, Dancer in the Dark, Bjork played a woman who was going blind. I think having recently seen this movie made me take notice of this woman I saw on the way home from work yesterday. She was crossing the street with one of those long sticks that blind people use, swinging it back and forth. She obviously wasn't blind because she crossed the very busy street with confidence and then avoided some construction on the sidewalk without first bumping into it with her stick. I actually saw her fold the stick up and stop carrying it after she had turned another corner (It was a long light!). So, what does the stick do for her? Is she so far sighted that she needs it to find the curb (that's farsighted right I get near/far sighted confused)? I was just curious caus it seemed to me like the blind stick would only be useful if you were really blind.

Quantum Physics and the Formless Mind
I've been doing some reading about quantum physics. Seriously! Mostly what I've been looking at have been Budhist articles relating quantum physics to Budhist principles. It sounds heavy, but the articles are very easy to read. I was sitting at lunch today thinking about quantum physics and the creation of the universe, while everyone else was talking about college baseball. You just can't bring up quantum physics at lunch, like you would bring up what you saw on tv last night.
