I was amazed this past Saturday, to see a project on the streets of Boston executed with lightning quick speed. On Saturday morning parking meters were installed on both sides of the first 3 blocks of Cambridge St by 11:00 am. I went to bed Friday night with no meters and when I went out on Sat morning I saw the last few meters being installed. Amazing. This is mostly sad, since these blocks provided the only few "secret" spots that were actually available for parking around the neighborhood. Also, the meters cut out at least 1 space per block because they give more space than needed. The one upside is that it did create a few spots that were definately "no parking" before.
In other drs1 news, I just signed up for Comcast cable last night. Assuming I can pull off the self install I will now be back on the interweb at home. If you are about to sign up for Comcast make sure you check out the deals you can get through Best Buy. Waaaaay better than signing up directly with Comcast.

Bears Prefer Suburbs
As the bears move into the suburbs, their numbers in Massachusetts have swelled from about 500 in the early 1980s to 3,000 today, said state wildlife biologist James Cardoza, who has been tracking radio-collared black bears in Western Massachusetts for two decades.
I thought it was kind of funny that there was another urban coyote story in the boston globe this Sunday. I couldn't find that article online, but while i was looking I stumbled on suburban bears.
