Columbus Would Have Wanted It That Way

So monday is a holiday... I wish someone would remind me of these things. Seriously. Can I somehow tell Outlook to show the freakin' holidays?

I don't think this excerpt from an email at work needs any commentary:

As you may have noticed, we've spruced up one of our conference rooms recently and will continue to improve the others over the next few months. Right now, we have three conference rooms unappealingly labeled Board Room, Training Room and Sales/Marketing Room. We'd like to give them new names, with appealing decorations that support their new names.

This is where you come in. We'd like good suggestions for a theme (and, of course three specific names) for our conference rooms. The individual (or team, if you prefer) that comes up with the best theme and names will win a prize ... and a slice of immortality. Good themes are ones that are appropriate to our business and strategy and can readily be illustrated through pictures or other decoration.

Tonight at 6 I'm gonna do my best to get Red Sox tickets for the World Series. Wish me luck.

Sox Win!!!

Awwwwwwwwww yeah, Red Sox!!! The game last night was incredible. It was soo tense and nerve racking, but when the final strikeout was recorded you could just feel the whole city jumping to their feet. Which is honestly what everyone was doing; and that's partly what makes the series so cool.

I have to admit this is the first season I've really followed baseball. I was in a fantasy league, so I started paying attention and really began to enjoy the game. I never really watched baseball before moving to Boston, but it has been really cool to jump in with the Sox. I haven't suffered season after season of heartbreak and dissappointment like the real Sox fans, but even after just one season you kind of know the deal. Most importantly I just want them to win because of how cool it will be for Boston. Rooting for the Sox is such a shared experience around here and everyone wants to share the eventual moment when they win. Now we get to go and face the undisputed villan. Honestly, anything less would just not do.
