I remember being somewhat disappointed with On the Road and I think the main reason was that I didn't realise before hand that the book had no plot. Warning spoiler... the only thing that happens in this book is that they drive and hitch hike back and forth across the US and all over the place. Characters come and go, but there really isn't any kind of plot to speak of. If you're cool with that then you might really like the book. I didn't find it very interesting at the time I read it, but I've always remembered the roman candle passage listed above.
This afternoon I will be on the road to the cape where I will be camping with a bunch of peeps. Seems like a fun weekend is in store, but I hope I'm not on the road for too long, as I'll be heading down 93 at about the worst possible time.

New Hope
With each new season there is the hope that this will be the year your team comes together and reclaims the former glory they once knew. A true fan remains loyal even through crappy owners, new coaches, and sub par players. It's not just the current team that you're rooting for, but all those players and names from the past. So this year, like many others in recent history, I have complete faith that my Redskins will go 12-4 win the division and walk through the playoffs. Sure it probably won't happen, but before week 1 is over you have no good reason to convince me otherwise. That's why I'm happy as can be today, and can hardly wait for the pre game Britney celebration that will lead right into the kickoff. All I can say is....
