Surprisingly Simple

The picture on my drivers license has been in pretty bad shape for a while. The license window of my wallet still has flecks of paint and junk stuck on it from my summer of painting houses in '95. I think these flecks provided enough friction to really scratch up the surface of the license while taking it in and out of the wallet. So my picture was really scratched up, but the interesting part was that once it got all scratched up the ink from the picture actually bonded onto the plastic window of my wallet. With the licesnse in the wallet you could see my picture pretty well, but if you took it out of the wallet you could barely make out the image and you would also notice a "ghost" image on me in my wallet window.

Last night I stopped by the mall after work and noticed that the RMV was still open, so I decided to finally get a new license. I was literally shocked by how easy the whole process was. I filled out one short form, handed it in, and that was it! They still had my previous picture stored away in the 'puter so I didn't even have to take a new one. The most amazing thing was that there was no fee. I'm not sure why exactly, but I didn't want to question it. It boggles my mind that the Mass RMV will do something for you that does not require the paying of a fee. I'm sure that must be an oversight on the part of the RMV and when they figure it out someone will probably get chewed out for not taxing us.

Rock Star Party

I'm going to a rock star party this weekend, so I've been trying to figure out what I should do for a costume. Now it's true that my DRS1 name originated from KRS1, so I was originally thinking of doing something along those lines. As much as I like KRS1 though, I think to be truer to my inner rock star I'm going to go the punk rock route. That and the fact that I can come up with a better costume. So I did a little surfing on the internet and was reading about Fugazi and Ian Mackay. These guys are the biggest anti rock stars around, but to me truly embody the spirit of the genre. Plus they are representin' for Washington DC. If you have any other great rock star costume ideas leave them in the comments, but don't worry I'm not holding my breath.
